We found many different systems that work similarly to our project.
Some notable features are:
• Dual harness system - as one harness is brought down, another harness rises up
to support the escape of multiple people consecutively
• Rope is wrapped around in a spool
• Costs range from $59 ~ $280 average
• Speed ranges from 0.5 m/s to 1 m/s and range depends on the weight of the user
From this, we concluded that our maximum speed will be 1 m/s (3 ft/s)

We looked up the average weight of a person and concluded that people lie weigh around 100 ~ 250 lbs.
Therefore, our system will have an operating load of 100 ~ 250 lbs, with an absolute minimum of 50 lbs and absolute maximum of 500 lbs (by safety factor of 2).

We found that the top 10 cities with the largest number of floors have around 10 stories on average.
Additionally, the height of a story is around 10 ft.
Therefore, our system will be able to accommodate heights of 10 stories x 10 ft/story, or 100 ft tall.

The lowest weight of a dumbbell that a gym stores commonly is 5 lbs, and suggests that people should be able to carry that weight in one hand.
Therefore, we concluded that with two hands, people should be able to carry a weight of 5 lbs x 2, or a system that weighs 10 lbs in total.

The maximum hip size of a 5XL man is given as ~50 inches.
Therefore, our system will have a maximum belt size of 50 inches

The median temperature of fire is around 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. We do not expect the system to be exposed to extremely high-temperature fire for an extended amount of time.
Therefore, our system will be fire-resistant to a temperature of 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.

A fire extinguisher, which is similarly used in a time of fire emergency, has around 4 short sentences, with 4 images accompanying.
Therefore, our system will have instructions that are a maximum of 4 short sentences long, with 4 accompanying images
